Taking The Sunshine Coast Scenic Route

This scenic drive meanders through the Blackall Range, the emerald green hills that surround the beaches and resort villages of the Sunshine Coast. Along this tour you will find quaint villages along the hillsides along with stores, cafes and galleries. To the far southern end of the tour is the sculptural majesty of the Glass House Mountains. Starting at Noosa Heads, which is known for being a fashionable resort town on Laguna Bay at the mouth of Noosa Village. The clifftop views here are unbelievable. Leaving this location you will head to Eumundi, a 19th century timber town which is the starting point of the ascent to the hills. Wednesday and Saturdays are a great time to visit there because of the outdoor fresh markets. Next stop on this tour is Yandina. This is the home of the Ginger Factory, this is both a ginger factory and a theme park in one. On the way to the next location take a rest at the Dulong Lookout. The views here are breathtaking, from the rolling green hills to the dense forest, worth the stop. Gerrard Lookout is next, situated between Montville and Maleny. At this point you are 350 meters above sea level.
