The Importance Of Having Caravan Insurance

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Chester Cooke was a man who one day decided that he wanted to have a caravan on the banks of the river Avon in a perfectly situated caravan site that was professionally owned, well maintained and had all the amenities that he could ask for. However, he wasn't the type to go spending the best part of twenty grand plus annual services on a caravan without properly thinking it through.

So he then called his broker and said that he was looking for some caravan insurance. His broker then told him that that shouldn't be a problem and he would be more than happy to get him a quote. So Chester gave his broker the details of the caravan and where it would be situated.

A few minutes later, the broker called Chester back and said that unfortunately he was not able to find any insurance companies that would offer him insurance, not because of the caravan itself, or even the site that he had chosen, but it was to do with the exact spot that he had chosen. It was right on the bank of river Avon, which had flooded the year before, causing a massive number of insurance claims on the grounds of water damaged property, and so now insurers were very wary about insuring caravans that were right on the water's edge. This meant that if Chester really wanted the caravan, and he wanted it right there, it would have to be at his own risk.

This was deal breaking news. It was highly likely that the Avon would flood again at sometime in the future and Chester couldn't afford to take on a caravan without insurance. He asked his broker about these other "normal criteria" of caravan sites that he should look for if he was going ahead with his plan to buy a caravan.

Ideally the site should be a registered CaSSOA site. There are insurance discounts for these because they have minimum standards of security. If the caravan is to be sited more informally, on a farm for instance, the caravans on the farm should be in their own compound with a defined perimeter. Some insurers insist that there are a minimum number of caravans on the site, safety in numbers as it were. Finally Chester should look for a site with good security, a mature hawthorn hedge or palisade fencing marking the boundaries.

Before this, Chester hadn't really given much though to caravan insurance. He didn't think it was going to be such a big part his decision to buy a caravan. All he knew was that he was grateful to have a good broker who knew how to take care of it all because after all, all he really wanted to do was enjoy his caravan. The insurance was just to take the worry out of owning it.

How To Hire An Excellent Personal Injury Lawyer

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

When filing for a personal injury suit you will most definitely need an attorney unless you already are one. Either way, a personal injury attorney can help you get the best settlement possible for mental and physical damages. Some cases are easier than others, meaning there are minimal damages. For those that have severe damages caused by an accident, a highly experienced attorney is definitely needed.

A personal injury case is not the same as other law cases. An attorney that specializes in this field has had extensive training on the subject and knows how to properly handle cases dealing with injury. If you were to hire a "general" lawyer for this kind of case, you may not win or benefit the most from the situation.

The most important thing is that you take the appropriate steps as soon as possible. If you had to go to the hospital due to your accident, a personal injury attorney can still be contacted. He can even go to the hospital and discuss the situation as well as gather evidence proving your case. Waiting too long can cause problems later on, so act fast.

Of course, acting too hasty can also be problematic. You will want to hire an attorney that is able to defend your case properly. This means you should get recommendations and learn about him before hiring. This will ensure that the person you are hiring is honest as well as knowledgeable about your case.

Keep in mind that lazy attorneys are not good enough to represent you in court. They may have all of the proper licenses but they are more concerned about making quick cash. An understanding and efficient attorney will not only help you win a fair settlement, but they can also work with you throughout the entire case.

It may be tempting to yell at the insurance companies the company or individual to blame for your pain and hurt. This is counterproductive and you should avoid even speaking to anyone until you have hired a lawyer. Saying one wrong thing can later cause problems in court and for your case, none of which are desirable. If you have even the tiniest amount of doubt, hire someone immediately to help you create a statement draft to present.

In Conclusion

When going through a personal injury lawsuit case you must be prepared for everything. The opposing side will also have a lawyer, so you must be sure that your attorney representing you is even better. This pays off in the end, especially if your settlement is more than expected or desired.
