Corporate Boat Cruises Are Gaining Steam

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

One industry that is gaining steam is the provider of corporate boat cruises. These smaller cruise lines and yacht leasing companies are attracting more business through better advertising, deluxe services, and fantastic rates. Encouragingly, more and more corporations are joining in the trend and booking mini-cruises for their employees and clientele.

Corporate boat cruises are plentiful and very easy to find. Use any search engine and there are dozens of them at your fingertips. Don't forget to type your city and state at the end of the search text. This will narrow the search a bit to include only those in your immediate area.

There are many reasons large corporations would book a cruise ship or yacht. Business meeting held on a ship or yacht are sure to impress any client. Many cruise ships have all the amenities of a hotel including a meeting room, telecommunications, fax and presentation equipment, and food service. These can be rented by the day, week, or leased into the companies fleet of transportation.

Many corporations are booking cruises for a wide variety of reasons. Employee recognition is one very popular function that corporate boat cruises play in business today. Special client presentations are another. I have recently heard of a retirement party for a beloved CEO on a cruise ship. These are just a few of the reasons corporations utilize the services small cruise lines offer.

Many cruise companies have a small fleet ranging in sizes so that they have a craft ready for any sized occasion. They usually start at 100 feet and get larger. Two or three cruise ships are the norm for most companies. Most of these ships have state-of-the-art equipment installed including radio, television, and global positioning equipment. Interior designs in many cruise ships are as elegant as most modern hotels. These ships have two full bathrooms to accommodate its minimum capacity.

The cost of a small cruise ship compared to hotel facilities is close. The cruise ship is a few hundred dollars more but many of the extras that you would pay a hotel are included in the cruise package making it the better value. Just like hotels, pricing ranges from cruise company to cruise company. On average, $1.000 to $4.000 is about standard depending on the length of the cruise and the entertainment or dining package included.

The cruise companies have a corporate Events manager that will take your call. This professional salesperson will have all the information you will need to get started. Their experience will make the process much easier and save you a tremendous amount of time. Some of these salespeople are also called Corporate Planners.

After reviewing dozens of cruise ship lines that specialize in small and medium corporate boat cruises, I realized that it would be very difficult to pick one and the process would be a long one. It would be a great idea to have most of your information together before you speak to an event manager. Knowing beforehand, exactly what you want and how many people will be involved will save a ton of valuable time and greatly improve the initial options offered.

You Wouldn’t Drive Drunk But What About Your Jet Ski?

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Jet Skiing is an exhilarating sport. Breaking the waters in your extreme equipment, slicing through the surf while turning trick after trick is an exciting adventure. It is easy to picture loosing yourself in the excitement and fun. You can imagine what you could be like when you are under the influence of alcohol.

Many people are becoming more concerned regarding Jet Ski drivers who have been drinking prior to mounting their rigs. Youth drinking on the beach is a common sight nowadays and Jet Ski rule violations have been linked to such incidents. Apparently, rule breakers ride their jet skis after a bout of shots and get dangerously close to boats in local bays.

Responsible owners of Jet Skis are quite opinionated with the issue of alcohol and their rigs. They listen to other people's concerns as a rule. They would never allow anyone who had been drinking to ride much less drive their vehicles.

A lot if not all of Jet Skiing accidents have been associated to non conformance of safety precautions and rules. Plenty of these mishaps are also associated with alcohol drinking.

In Kentucky, 2 people were badly injured in a Jet Skiing accident. The drunk driver didnt realize that there was a jet ski passing behind him when he suddenly made a turn. In this accident alcohol played a major factor dulling the drivers concentration and judgment.

There are also people who voice concerns about the excessive noise Jet Skiers make at times claiming that riders may have been drunk or drinking, but most often than not, the riders are only enjoying themselves.

Everyone must remember that everybody needs to be sober when they are out in the water. It is even more important to bear in mind that we should never operate a watercraft when under the influence of alcohol. Not only do we endanger our own life but those of others as well.

I have read in a personal injury lawyer's site that drinking and water sports should never mix. Furthermore, anybody should never command any mode of transportation after consuming alcohol. Any mishap resulting from it will rest upon his shoulders.

Jet Skiing might be a delightful thrill packed ride, but we have to keep in mind to always keep ourselves protected, and those of others as well.
